Community Service
Headline

com_serv_buttonThe school offers a comprehensive community service program reflecting the need to prepare each student for the responsibility of community leadership and participation. Each year students are required to complete a minimum service requirement.

The Director of Human Development supervises all community service activities and provides guidance and information to assist students with the completion of their projects. The Head of the Middle School supervises Middle School community service. The community service program is complemented by the growing interest in service by several clubs and the Student Senate.

Middle School Community Service
One school day is dedicated to community service projects. On this day, students, faculty, and parents travel to one of six or eight designated locations to perform community services work.

Upper School Community Service
In the upper school, students are engaged in community service activities to fulfill hourly requirements: seven hours for freshmen; ten hours for sophomores and juniors; and 24 hours for seniors.

Community Service During the Senior Year
Seniors are asked to contribute a minimum of 24 hours of service off campus at a single agency. This occurs two weeks before graduation and is intended to be a high point of the senior experience.
