Application Process Checklist

If you're considering applying to Flintridge Prep, you must complete an application, take the ISEE, and attend an interview. In addition, you may wish to visit the school. Preparation for Entrance in the 2012–2013 School Year

 

Date

Attend Flintridge Prep's Open House for prospective students and families. Meet Prep's students, faculty and coaches as you tour our campus. The Headmaster will speak and answer questions in the auditorium at 1:15 pm and 2:15 pm.  Sunday, December 4, 2011, 1:00–3:00 pm
    
Pre-register for the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE), using the form in the ISEE Student Guide booklet for detailed instructions; be sure to designate the schools to which you'd like your scores sent by code number on the registration. Flintridge Prep's code is 052375.  September–December 2011
    
Give the Request for Transcript and Teacher Recommendation forms to the applicant's current school and ask the school to complete and send them to Flintridge Prep.  Prior to the end of the first semester/ trimester at your student's current school
    
Flintridge Prep hosts the ISEE.  You can take the test at any location.  Check your ISEE Student Guide booklet for other test locations and dates.  Saturday, December 10, 2011
    
Applicant interview: After you submit the interview dates form, Prep's Admissions Office will contact you to set an appointment. At this visit the parent(s) may also meet the interviewer to ask questions about the school or share insights into their child.  January–February 2012
    
Deadline: Completed Admission Application form to Flintridge Prep; include $85 application fee and Student Interview Dates form.  Friday, January 20, 2012
    
Deadline: Math and English Teacher Recommendation forms to Flintridge Prep.  Friday, January 27, 2012
    
Deadline: ISEE results to Flintridge Prep (test taken on or received by)  Saturday, February 4, 2012
    
Deadline: Applicant's transcript to Flintridge Prep.  Monday, February 6, 2012
    
Applicants are invited to spend a morning at Prep. Please call the Admissions Office at least a week in advance if you would like to arrange a visit. A Prep student volunteer will host your child. We do our best to honor requests for a specific student to host the applicant's morning visit, as long as the student host is currently in the grade for which the applicant is applying.  February–March 2012 (dates to be determined)
    
    

Additionally, If Applying For Financial Aid *

  
Deadline: Submit online Parents' Financial Statement form (PFS) to School and Student Services (sss.nais.org). Applications will be available online after November 1, 2011. Be sure the Flintridge Prep financial aid code number (3172) is on your application. Retain a copy to be sent directly to Prep (see below).  Friday, January 20, 2012
    
Deadline: Submit Flintridge Prep Financial Aid Application, a copy of the SSS Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) and non-custodial parent's Parents' Financial Statement application (if applicable) to the attention of Kim Kinder, Director of Finance.  Friday, February 3, 2012
    
Deadline: Submit copy of 2011 IRS tax return forms, including all schedules and W2's to Kim Kinder, Director of Finance. Non-custodial parents must also submit copies of their tax forms.

* Please note that action on incomplete financial aid applications and/or applications received after February 17 will be deferred and will be considered only if funds are still available.

Note: Flintridge Preparatory School does not issue the I-20 student visa for international students. Applicants to grades 8, 10, 11 and 12 will be interviewed only if their qualifications are competitive and there is a probability of a space.
