Victor White ’62

Victor White attended La Cañada schools through junior high and came to Flintridge Prep for tenth grade, graduating in 1962. He attended the University of Arizona, majoring in business administration, and earned an MBA from USC. He spent most of his career as a management analyst for the federal government. Victor met his wife, Jennifer, while serving in the Marine Corps at the Camp Pendleton Officers’ Club; they will have been married 38 years in August.

Victor remembers his days at Prep with fondness. “Prep was small and individualized,” he explains. “There was a reverence for academics. We valued the personal relationships we had at Prep; I appreciated the contact with Joe Fasken, who was a neighbor and a great teacher of history and geography. I remember both the friendships and the challenges — especially in swimming and football. Jim Wood was an important part of my life; I respected him and I learned a respect for discipline from him.

“I got a lot out of Prep — my three years there shaped my academic preferences and attitudes.”

Victor explains his membership in the Lowery Society as “intentional”. Our choice as a family is to leave such assets as we are lucky enough to have, to charitable causes.

“We are leaving a portion of our assets to the Joe Fasken Endowment [which provides scholarship assistance], to make Prep a little more affordable for someone else. The primary thing I want to do through membership in the Lowery Society is to give back to an institution that made a difference in my life.”

Individuals who take the step to include Flintridge Prep in their estate plans and notify the school will be honored as members of the Lowery Society. For more information please contact the Director of Development.
