Rich with opportunity for creative development and artistic growth, the Visual Arts at Prep offers opportunities for students to recognize and celebrate their talents. A primary goal of the Visual Arts program is to develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Faculty members of the Visual Arts Department are working artists who understand the importance of recognizing and nurturing artistic talent. Students are encouraged to become self-critical, go beyond their perceived limitations, take risks, and take pride in their work within a safe and nurturing environment.

In the studios, the students are given the opportunity to work in a variety of media, including photography, video, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing and design. Once students have mastered the basic techniques, they are encouraged to hone their skills at more advanced creative levels, culminating in a strong body of work with excellent portfolios. Students are able to exhibit their work in local independent art shows as well as local juried exhibitions.
