Independent Study

Independent Study

Independent Study is an elective course designed for second-semester seniors.  As a supplement to the formal curriculum, students who opt to participate in an Independent Study project have the chance to delve deeply into a topic of their choosing with a faculty member who has a compelling interest and expertise in that discipline.

Each project is unique and innovative, playing off the specific academic goals designed by the student and faculty member. At the end of the semester, students submit completed works to be graded by and give a presentation to faculty members and fellow students.

Examples of student-designed independent study projects include writing and compiling short creative writing, shooting and editing a music video, or creating and perfecting the business model for an entrepreneurial endeavor.
