Mr. Lewis, Performing Arts Department Chair
Rob Lewis, Performing Arts Department Chair, Drama II teacher, director extraordinaire

Mr. Lewis likes to call Drama II the comedy and tragedy year.

“First semester we focus on more serious method acting, contemporary 20th-century works like Tennesse Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. Then we jump back through the ages to focus on comedy and style. We learn about delicate nuance work, what your body language does, how to handle props in a historically accurate way. We learn to incorporate a different language of mannerisms, behavior and details.”—Rob Lewis

Students learn how to convey a different persona
“Having drama with Mr. Lewis is like having a weight lifted off your shoulders. It is the safe haven of all our classes, a place where the motto is ‘no judgments,’ and there is an atmosphere of comfort and passion. There is never a dull moment and though saying the class is fun would be an understatement, we also learn so much.”—Student

Taking on a tricky scene
“Drama is the art of revealing parts of yourself that you didn’t know you had. I love studying drama and plan to continue throughout my high school career and hopefully, my life.”—Student
