Flintridge Prep’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

February 20, 2021

Dear Community Member,

We hope this email finds you well. As you may be aware, Flintridge Prep launched a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative in June 2020. This initiative seeks to collect relevant data in order to help define what diversity, equity, and inclusion means at Prep and to promote a shared understanding as we seek long-term progress in our efforts.

This fall and winter, our DEI consultant, Christina Hale-Elliott, has sat in on classes and meetings and conducted focus group conversations, and now she is conducting anonymous community surveys. Your insights will help inform Ms. Hale-Elliott’s strengths and needs assessment, which in turn will influence the school's strategic planning, which will include analysis of:

  • Diversity and multicultural programs and initiatives at Prep
  • Prep’s current level of inclusivity
  • Areas of need, whether in curriculum, infrastructure, governance, or services

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful participation in this important initiative. The survey will close on Friday, March 5, at 5:00 p.m. PT.If you are an alum as well as a parent, you will receive a separate survey. Please feel free to answer both surveys, as the questions in each are slightly different.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Epley Tegart ‘97
Director of Alumni Relations
