Dear Community Member,
On Monday, April 26, a small group of students and a faculty member on campus were exposed to an individual who began to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 on Tuesday. This individual was not on campus on Tuesday and tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday evening. While on campus on Monday, all the exposed individuals were masked, physically distanced, and outside at all times.
As required, we have reported this case to the LA County Department of Public Health, and according to their guidelines, exposed individuals have been contacted and provided with protocols for monitoring symptoms while they quarantine. If the exposed individuals were not fully vaccinated, they must quarantine for 10 days. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks from the administration of their final vaccination dose. The LADPH COVID-19 quarantining guidelines can be found here.
We feel fortunate that our COVID-19 protocols regarding exposure, contact tracing, and testing ensured a swift response and risk mitigation. If you have questions, please contact Andres Alamillo, Kim Kinder, Theresa King, or any member of the COVID-19 School Compliance Task Force at email@example.com.
