Dear Community Member,
Cases of COVID-19 continue to increase, and the COVID-19 Compliance Task Force is monitoring information coming from local, regional, and state resources. As the December holidays approach, we want to remind you of the guidelines that have been released by the California Department of Public Health and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The Regional Stay at Home Order issued on December 3 and updated on December 6 requires residents to stay home as much as possible and minimize mixing to reduce unnecessary exposure while still being able to do important things like go to the doctor, buy groceries, pick up takeout, go on a hike, or worship outdoors.
Flintridge Prep also asks all community members, including faculty, staff, and families, to follow the state of California’s travel guidelines, which can be found here.
The state of California defines non-essential travel as travel that is considered tourism or recreational in nature. Essential travel includes travel for work and study, and for essential services, including to seek immediate medical care. Those traveling out of state (whether for work or pleasure) should practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arriving home.
The health and safety of our community is our primary concern. We recognize the personal sacrifices many in our community have made to protect older and more vulnerable colleagues, family members, and friends, including student-athletes, coaches, and other essential workers. Following these guidelines will be especially important when it is safe and legal to return to campus for conditioning, practices, and other on-campus activities. Your effort while working under challenging circumstances makes a difference to our entire community. Thank you.
