Dear Community Member,
As we head into a well-earned Thanksgiving break, we want to share some updates with you.
First, given that COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County continue to rise rapidly, we now believe that a return to campus for hybrid learning in January is unlikely. We are ready and look forward to welcoming students back to campus safely when state and county guidelines allow.
Second, as we watch the number of coronavirus cases increase, we anticipate that a safer-at-home/stay-at-home order may be issued by Los Angeles County and/or the State of California in the coming days. If this occurs, only essential employees will be allowed on campus and all campus activities will be postponed until the new year. These activities include athletic conditioning and social-emotional grade-level activities that have been planned for early-to mid-December.
Third, even in the absence of a safer-at-home/stay-at-home order, we will not host on-campus, grade-level events or athletic conditioning the week after Thanksgiving. Grade-level activities planned that week for grades 10, 11, and 12 will be rescheduled, either to later in December or to the new year, depending on the emerging COVID-19 data and recommendations from LA County. As we have more information, we will provide additional updates after the holiday break.
We appreciate the support that parents have given to our faculty, staff, and students as we continue to focus on providing the best possible student experience this school year, and we invite all community members to visit our Return to Campus Plan webpage for more information on campus plans.
As always, please feel free to communicate questions to anyone on the COVID-19 School Compliance Task Force or email email@example.com at any time. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, hold your loved ones close and be safe.
My very best,
Head of School
