Weekly PCR Testing
Yesterday we sent an email explaining our COVID-19 testing protocols. We expect all students over the age of 12 to receive a vaccine for COVID-19. We require all employees and school volunteers to be vaccinated, barring medical or religious exemptions. The State of California, Cal/OSHA, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health require unvaccinated school employees and students to be tested weekly. Fully vaccinated students and employees are welcome to participate in weekly testing as well.
Alternative Testing Options
If you are required to test weekly because you are unvaccinated and a conflict prevents you from participating in testing on campus, or if you miss your opportunity to participate in mandatory community-wide testing, alternative options include urgent care, doctor’s offices, and mobile testing facilities that offer PCR testing. Home tests and rapid antigen tests will not be accepted. Please allow at least 48 hours and up to 72 hours for test results. You may email your results directly to Andres Alamillo. Anyone required to test who is not presenting a negative test before the start of the next school week will not be allowed to come to campus.
School Trip PCR Testing
We are looking forward to class trips for each grade level during the week of September 20. These trips will be essential to connecting and reconnecting our students. Safety is of the utmost importance, and we will be hosting school-wide PCR testing the week of September 13.
All students and employees must participate in testing on these days. If you do not receive a test on these days or do not present a negative test from an alternative source before your trips are scheduled to leave, you will not be allowed to attend.
More information about these testing days will be in next week’s Howl.
