The La Dolce Vita Benefit was one for the record books! The April fundraiser netted $489,000 for the Leadership Initiative Endowment fund, which will provide perpetual funding for a robust slate of leadership programs, curriculum, and opportunities for students at every grade level. The figure was announced by Benefit chairs Felina Mahoney and Emily Vencatachellum at last night's PVN Thank You Mixer.
Last summer, the E.E. Ford Foundation awarded Flintridge Prep a $100,000 conditional grant as start-up funding for the school’s new Leadership Initiative. This early phase of funding was granted to create a structured plan for staffing, research, development, and implementation. The grant was conditional upon Flintridge Prep raising $100,000 in matching funds.
We are pleased to share that Greg and Kristen Chapman, who will be honored on Thursday at the Heads Council Reception for their remarkable philanthropy, donated the match in its entirety. This led the way for the school to embark on fundraising for an endowment that will sustain the program in perpetuity. We are deeply grateful to the Chapman family—and every benefit volunteer and guest who have made the fundraising for our Leadership Initiative such a success.
