This year, La Cañada Flintridge celebrates its 50th anniversary since incorporation. To honor the occasion, the city held a logo design contest open to residents, families, and local partners. Tyler Tasanont '27 answered that call, designing the winning entry by weaving together the original city seal, JPL's legacy of exploration, and LCF's rich history into a single image meant to resonate for years to come.

He describes his logo as "a mosaic, conveying the idea of coming together, and a reference to the unification of La Cañada and Flintridge."

The design didn't happen overnight. Tyler credits his growth as an artist to Melissa Manfull, Visual Arts Faculty, whose approach to instruction gave him the freedom to pursue his own interests while sharpening his technical skills. That growth extended beyond the classroom as well. Through Flintridge Prep's access to professional tools like the Adobe Creative Suite, Tyler was able to develop his graphic design skills on his own terms and at his own pace.
