High School Athletics

The boys volleyball team Beat EF Academy last week to tie for second place in the Prep League and clinch a spot in the CIF playoffs. The Wolves will play away against Castaic High School tonight at 6 p.m.  Please come if you can and help cheer the Wolves on to victory. 

Despite being short several players, the softball team put up a solid fight against Chadwick. The team finished 1-3.  The Wolves will take on Westridge away today and host Rio Hondo on Thursday at 3:30, as they try to clinch a playoff spot!

The baseball team took two tough losses in a doubleheader against Poly last week (10–11 and 2–6). The Wolves rebounded and took Chadwick to the tenth inning in a 7–4 win. The team will face Chadwick again on May 1 at 3:30 p.m.

The boys tennis team continues to prepare for the CIF individual tournament, which will start the first week of May.

The golf team beat Rio Hondo 199–253 at Eaton Canyon Golf Course. This win put them into a three-way tie for first place in the league and will compete in a league play-in tournament on Wednesday at Santa Anita Golf Course to determine who will represent the Prep League in the CIF team playoffs. 

The boys and girls swimming teams had an outstanding showing at the league finals. The boys won the league title with a score of 373, defeating Poly (208), Rosemead (182), and Chadwick (81). Henry Y. ‘27 was awarded MVP honors for the boys. The girls finished third on the podium, scoring 201 points behind Mayfield (422) and Poly (215). Dylan D. ’26 and Olivia L. ’27 were awarded co-MVP honors. Qualifying swimmers will compete next at the CIF-SS Championships from May 6–9 at Mt. San Antonio College.

The boys and girls track and field teams had numerous athletes qualify for the league finals. The Wolves will be competing today at 1:30 p.m. at Occidental College to earn their spot in the CIF playoffs. 

In equestrian, Megan M. ’29 and her horse earned Champion of the IEL JV division and Reserve Champion of the 0.90m Jr/Am Jumpers at the April IEL/Gold Coast Horse Show. The duo is currently ranked first in points overall in both the IEL JV Jumper division and the Gold Coast 0.90m Jr/Am division and will compete in the IEL Championship in May.
