We invite you to visit our campus! Exploring our campus provides you with the opportunity to learn more about the different spaces our students have to grow and thrive in. Campus tours are held throughout the fall, beginning in late September, in addition to our Admissions Open House. As a part of our admissions application, we require three years of past transcripts, along with recommendation forms from your current school.

Recommendations are required from an administrator (such as a principal/head of school, vice principal, dean, guidance counselor, advisor, etc.), current English teacher, and current math teacher.

The student should complete and submit a brief response to the writing prompt found in the admissions portal. This essay will give the student an opportunity to reflect on some of our school’s values. 

The Character Skills Snapshot is required for all applicants and is an online tool that measures student preferences towards seven skills: intellectual engagement, open-mindedness, initiative, resilience, self-control, social awareness, and teamwork. It takes about 25 minutes to complete and can be done in a comfortable environment of your choice. Results complement the other information in a student's application.

You can register for the snapshot through Flintridge Prep’s online admissions portal once you submit the application. The fee is $60 or $30 when purchased at the same time as the SSAT. The fee can be waived by contacting the Admissions Office.

Applicants must upload results in onCampus, as they are not sent to us automatically.

Flintridge Prep requires all applicants to submit standardized test scores as part of the admissions process.

Applicants are required to take either the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). The decision to require a standardized test score has been made with your child’s success and wellbeing in mind. Learn more about our updated standardized testing requirement. 

We do not have a preferred test; both will be considered equally in the admissions process. Tests are offered in person and online, and students can register for the format that is most convenient and comfortable for them. Note: Applicants for grades 10-11 may submit PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores in lieu of the ISEE or SSAT. 

Flintridge Prep is hosting a paper-based ISEE on Saturday, December 6, 2025 for students applying to Flintridge Prep. To register for this location, you will need to create an account and use the event code UE3SVGMP to find our test site.  

When registering, request that results be sent to Flintridge Prep. Our school code is 1335 for the SSAT and 052375 for the ISEE. Be careful to check when test results are released so that we receive scores by the deadline. Applicants • Grades 7-9

Students applying to grades 7-9 are asked to participate in teacher-led activities, similar to the types of collaborative opportunities typical of the Flintridge Prep experience.

While students are participating in the group activity, parents/guardians engage in small group conversations with the our admissions team and/or other school administrators to learn about Flintridge Prep and ask questions about our community. 

Note that you must submit an admissions application in order to schedule your activity day.

Applicants • Grades 10-11

Students applying to grades 10-11 may be contacted directly by the Admissions Office to schedule an interview with a member of our faculty.

The financial aid application for 2026-2027 school year is closed.

Flintridge Prep awards financial aid based on a family’s calculated financial need in amounts ranging from 10% to 100% of tuition and school costs. There are no merit or talent-based awards. If the cost of a Flintridge Prep education feels out of reach based on your family’s financial circumstances, we believe applying for financial assistance is worth exploring.
