Flintridge Prep has more than 30 teams in 13 sports, winning several League championships, CIF post-season appearances, CIF championships and state tournament bids. We offer equestrian and cheer and dance opportunities all year round.
We have a strong and proud athletics tradition dating from the school’s beginning in 1933. Our founder, Doane Lowery, taught the benefits of physical education for mind, body and spirit. Our program still reflects that essential philosophy.
Our student-athletes are committed to shared goals pursued in harmony with principles of respect, honor, sportsmanship and the pure joy of athletic involvement. Athletes develop leadership and teamwork skills, self-discipline and the ability to persevere in the face of challenge and struggle. Prep’s groundbreaking Athletic Council on Leadership recognizes and celebrates these natural outgrowths of participation in athletics.
Middle School Athletics Philosophy
We encourage all middle school students to experiment in diverse athletic activities as part of their well-rounded experience. Through participation, students continue to develop socially, physically and emotionally. We participate in the Independent Middle School League.
High School Athletics Philosophy
All high school teams at Prep pursue competitive success. We measure success by through growth through cooperative discipline and sacrifice, physical and mental perserverance and the commitment to shared goals. Student-athletes are encouraged to pursue personal growth and development as a life-long habit, developing skills in leadership and teamwork and self-discipline.
