Sports Round-Up: Water Polo & Cross Country

Girls Water Polo played their first game of the season against Burbank high school last week and came away with a 13-8 win. They played very well, especially for their first game, and they’ll undoubtedly get even stronger as the year progresses. The Wolves are looking to improve their record this week as they play Glendale, then head off to the Claremont Tournament this weekend!

Girls Cross Country ran in the CIF Finals on Nov. 19 at Mt. San Antonio College and gave it their all. Unfortunately, the Wolves were unable to qualify for the CIF State tournament, but that does not take away from their amazing season. They tied for second at the Prep League Finals with a solid run where four runners finished in the top 15. They continued their hard work in the CIF prelims, where they ran well enough to make it into the CIF finals. Despite their incredible efforts in the finals, the Wolves were unable to get into the top eight spots needed to qualify for the CIF state tournament. It was still a great season, and we are proud of how hard you all worked this year both at the races and during practice! We want to say a big thank you to all our seniors for their dedication and leadership over the years!

Boys Cross Country competed in the CIF finals on Nov. 19 at Mt. San Antonio College but were not able to crack the top eight, which would have sent them to the CIF State tournament. The Wolves fought hard despite having several members under the weather. Although they didn’t qualify for the state tournament, that does not take away from the hard work and accomplishments they had this year! The Wolves finished second in the Prep League with four runners finishing in the top 12! They were able to follow that up with a strong showing in the CIF prelims to get them into the CIF finals. Thanks for a great season and a special thank you to all our seniors who worked so hard for the program over the years!
