Sports Roundup: October 11

Boys cross country ran in the Clovis Invitational in Fresno last Friday. The team put up good times and got to run on the course that they will hopefully get to see at the state finals! The next meet will be at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, October 20. 

The football team traveled to College of the Canyons to play Santa Clarita Christian on Saturday. The Wolves took a four-touchdown lead into halftime. They continued to play well in the second half and won the game 46-0, earning their first shutout win this year. This brings their record to 5-0 for the season. They will play Windward this Friday, October 13 at Windward at 3:15 p.m. 

The girls tennis team played two matches last week. First, they faced the Division One Golden Knights in La Cañada; despite a solid effort, the Wolves fell 6-12, resulting in their first loss of the year. The Wolves quickly bounced back by beating league rival Providence 15-3 and remaining undefeated in league play. The Wolves' overall record is 9-1 and their league record is 5-0. The next match will be on Tuesday, October 10 vs. Mayfield at Cal State LA at 2:30 p.m. 

Girls volleyball played two games last week and won both! The first game was vs. Westridge and was their Dig Pink event where the team raises money for breast cancer awareness. The Wolves were able to raise money and beat Westridge 3-1 to climb into third place in the Prep league with only one league game remaining in the season. The team, ranked sixth, have an overall record of 17-6 and a league record of 6-5. They will play Providence High School on Wednesday, October 11 at 6 p.m. at Providence for their final match before playoffs.

The boys water polo team won both of their games last week! The Wolves played Brentwood at home. Despite a scoring deficit early in the match, they won 15-13 in this tight league game. The team then traveled to Chadwick, where they never gave up the lead against the Dolphins, winning 11-6! This win brings their overall record back up to 9-9 and their league record to 3-1 after the first round of league games. The Wolves will play Crespi this Wednesday, October 11 at Crespi at 4 p.m.
