Boys Tennis
On April 4, the Wolves defeated St. Francis, 15-3, and a day later, they defeated Crescenta Valley (D2 school), 13-5. After the first round against Crescenta, the Wolves were tied at 3-3 with 21-21 games. “We finally pulled ahead after the second round winning two of three singles and all three doubles,” shares the tennis coach. “At the third round we didn't look back and won five of six remaining sets.” The team also defeated St. Francis again, 16-2, bringing the win/loss record to 11-3.
Baseball
The varsity baseball team lost by a narrow margin against Providence on April 5 but rebounded with a shutout on April 7 (11-0). Spencer Seid ’22 had a no-hitter and the team played well. Despite Max Brunngraber ’23's good pitching and the team doing well overall, Monrovia took the win on April 9 (0-2).
Golf
The golf team lost their match against La Canada at the Brookside #2 Golf Course on April 6. The Wolves were led by Gabi Varga ’23. Moving on, they won their league golf match against Providence HS at the DeBell Golf Course on April 7. The Wolves were led by Alex Oh ’23 with a 2 under par 34, with great support by Matthew Lavichant ’24, Henry Brookbanks ’23, and Henry Tolleson ’23.
Softball
The Wolves lost to Mayfield (6-9) on April 5. Luna Tobar ’22 went 1 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Madison Lin ’23 had 2 RBIs and a run scored.
Boys Volleyball
The Wolves won their matches 3-0 against Rio Hondo on April 5 and Providence on April 7, remaining undefeated in league play.
Swimming
The swim teams took on Poly this past Tuesday. Junior varsity boys won 92-7 and while the varsity boys team lost 75-94, the team was led by Diego Barraclough '22. The girls varsity team won 105-63. The teams will take on the Chadwick Dolphins this Friday. Come out and support the Wolves during League Finals on April 21 and April 23 at Poly!
