Happy Friday, Prep fans!
For your first piece of happy Friday news, in a third consecutive win (12-7 against Westridge), girls water polo has earned their spot in the CIF playoffs for the first time in 15 years. The girls have had a strong and successful season, claiming third in League and putting their all into every match.
Girls basketball once again claimed the League title and hit an incredible 14 wins in a row this week, with back-to-back wins against Poly, 49-39, Firebaugh, 58-14, and Mayfield, 52-36. They head to CIF next week, aiming to repeat their many past successful postseason trips. The boys’ side followed up a 38-45 loss against Poly with a massive 64-19 win over Firebaugh.
Girls soccer ended season play on an even higher note, with two 10-0 victories in a row, one over Mayfield and the other over Firebaugh. It was their fourth 10-point shutout of the season and ended their undefeated season with 7 League wins . The boys’ squad faced a tough final few matches of the season, with a loss to Firebaugh, a loss against Chadwick, and one final 3-1 win against Poly, bringing their League record to 3-3-1. They hope to secure a CIF wildcard bid in the coming week.
