Happy Friday, Rebels fans!
Fall sports lit up thanks to the new field lights at football’s first home game of the year against Sun Valley. The 78-0 victory pumped up the fans for the season and was followed by an 85-30 win over Mammoth. Come see the boys in blue take on Villanova Prep tonight on Memorial Field!
Boys XC came in 20th in the Cool Breeze Invitational, with Carson Hasbrouck ’19 in 39th place individually. The girls side placed 23rd, with Sasha Codiga ’19 in 40th place and Haley Allen ’19 in 50th individually. At the Woodbridge Invitational the following week, the boys’ side took 31st in the all-division rated men’s race—111th place overall out of over 300 schools. The girls secured 3rd place out of 40+ teams in the Div IV races and 100th out of over 300 overall. Seniors Codiga and Allen placed 7th and 9th out of 258 in the girls’ individuals race.
Girls varisty tennis came back from two pre-season losses with three wins—versus Monrovia, Alhambra and Milken—followed by a third loss, against Mark Keppel. The girls take on Providence and Mayfield Monday and Tuesday.
Girls volleyball hit a 6-3 overall, 2-2 League record so far. Wins against Temple City, Providence, San Marino, Maranatha, Alhambra and Rio Hondo propel them into another promising season. Upcoming matches include Ribet, Westridge and Chadwick.
Boys water polo has a 4-4 overall record so far. Their first League match, against Poly, ended in an exciting 11-6 victory. Their second League game is against Chadwick this afternoon, followed by a couple home games next week.
