Girls and boys track and field both ended their season with a bang. Hanna Barakat ’17 was named the League track MVP and helped her squad bring home 10 wins, while Warren Hosseinion ’17 was named League field MVP and took home two League wins in discus and shotput. A total of 21 athletes gained entrance to the CIF prelims May 13 in Carpinteria. Boys swimming’s season found equal success, winning their fifth consecutive League title, while the girls team tied for second place with Westridge. The competitive finals meet at Poly brought good news for the Rebels, including a new school and League record in the 400-yard relay. Boys Volleyball also finished off strong, winning five of their last seven games and ending with a 7-1 League record and 21-6 overall record. They finished League play on top, with Poly trailing with a 4-2 League record.
Baseball heads into their last couple games looking strong, taking on Rio Hondo, who they defeated 15-2 earlier this week, and Firebaugh, who they’ve defeated 25-0 and 15-5 this season. After a 12-8 loss against Mayfield and 8-1 loss against Chadwick, girls softball seeks a comeback, with two games left against Westridge, who they defeated 8-2 earlier in the season, and Poly, who they lost a close 3-4 game to in April.
Help us congratulate our athletes on nearing completion of yet another successful spring season. Many of our teams approach CIF play feeling confident and excited for the future. #GoRebelsGo!
